Well, a few days ago I received the PNBOO Light Traced Pad A4. So far I can say it's really awesome!
It's really comfortable to use and to carry everywhere you want. let's take a look!
Hardware: This one is A4 size, it measures 14'' x 10''. And of course it's really thin as you expect.
It came in a big box almost of the same size, it was well packaged, well protected. It came in a plastic sleeve and with hard plastic on it for better protection. The screen had also a screen protector that you have to remove.
Inside there was the PNBOO Light Traced Pad A4 with a black glove and the AC adapter. As a gift you receive also a pack of 10 sheets for tracing. The screen is really hard glass, with rubber parts under for avoid movement of the light traced pad. The ON/OFF button, is on the left side, along with the + and - buttons, when you press the "+" button, it will help turn on the brightness. And the "-" button it will help you to reduce brightness.Of course, keep in mind that the with more brightness, the better is for tracing.
You also have to keep in mind that the most brightness level it's really bright, so it would be good if can take care of your eyes.
Use: I'm divided in this area, I mean, it works really great! The size of this makes it really comfortable to take it with you wherever you go.
But, I usually draw Portraits, so, I use my Blank Sheets in a vertical position, so you have to also use the Light Pad in a vertical position, otherwise the Sheet won't fit in. I use 9'' x 12'' sheets, and they fit just right in the light pad, but like I said if you draw in a vertical position, you also have to move the light pad in the same position. The problem with this is the location of the Adapter for the AC cable, and the location for the buttons, they will be now in the upper part, and when you put a holder for the sheets, the sheet will be now ON the buttons, and this will cause to turn off and on the light pad.
So... I had to change the position of the Light pad, still in the vertical position but now with the button in the lower part, now the sheets won't be on top of the buttons, but is a little uncomfortable to have the AC cable at the lower. Still, for me it's a wonderful light traced pad, and the majority of the light pads of different brand has the AC adapter and the buttons in the same side, just as this one.
The screen feels great, the surface doesn't get hot, and you can get all the details very well, I used a printed old photograph in Black & White of Marilyn Monroe (75g sheet) and it worked really great for tracing the outlines(Blank Sheet; 90g). What I really like of this Light Traced Pads, is that all the light is continuos in all the screen. Every area is lighted.
Overall:I think this is a great small Light Traced Pad, it's comfortable to take with you, it doesn't get hot, it's easy to use and it's not heavy.
One of the best parts of this light traced pad it's the size for travel, I found a sleeve of a laptop for the Light Pad and it fits just perfect!
This is a great gear for all artists, it's very light and easy to carry everywhere. It's comfortable and it does its job, it's really bright and an excellent tool for tracing.
