The Ugee HK1060 looks really amazing. It has a new innovative look and
is a little bit bigger than the M708 drawing tablet.
It was well packaged inside two boxes. Inside the drawing tablet’s box
it came: the drawing tablet, the CD driver, the Manual, the pencil (needs one
AAA battery), the usb cable, the pencil holder and the 8 replacements tips.
The tablet itself had a removable screen protector, and the part where
are the hot keys came with a removable protector also.
Now, let’s see it by parts:
1-Pencil: The pencil is a little bit thick, it has two programmable
buttons, and it need the one AAA battery mentioned before. Even though is a
little bit thick, it feels comfortable, it’s made of plastic, but the surface
feels very smooth. The pencil tip is also made of plastic, so it worn fast, but
is still very useful, and you have 8 additional tips.
2-Looks: Like I wrote before, the drawing tablet looks really good, it
has a new and very innovative look, and definitely it looks more professional.
It’s also bigger, although it has the same 10” by 6” inches in the drawing surface, it’s bigger than the M708 drawing tablet, but still very comfortable and really sturdy.
The whole measures are 14” by 9 ½”. I tried my laptop’s sleeve with the HK 1060 and it fits perfect.
The usb mini port looks also different, it has like a little entrance, and the usb cable fits right, a little bit tight, but not too much, it’s still easy to take in and take out.
Ugee also added a little pencil’s “fabric holder” by the right side, I tried to fit the pencil and it was really tight, so it’s not very useful, but also you don’t really need it.

3-Driver: I installed the HK1060 in my dad’s computer, it uses Windows
7. I didn’t install it in my laptop because unfortunately, you can’t have two
tablets from the same brand installed in your computer. This is because
probably, both are gonna use the same driver.
I have my amazing Ugee 1910B installed in my laptop, so I couldn’t installed the HK 10160, so I installed it in my dad’s computer and He’s gonna use it.
It was very easy to install, even though it says in the Manual to insert the CD first and install it, I don’t recommend that. FIRST you connect your KH 1060 to a usb port in your computer, and then insert the CD driver and make the installation, then Reset your computer. And that’s it, you’re ready to go.
Then you find the tablet’s icon in your tray, and you click in there and it will open the tablet’s Preferences, you try the pressure sensitivity and then you can map all the hot keys according to the software’s shortcuts. (The software you’re gonna use).
I tried the HK 1060 with my favorite software, Autodesk’s Sketchbook Pro, I installed it my dad’s computer and it worked flawlessly with the tablet, the hot keys with the shortcuts, and the pencil was really accurate.
I also tried the easy and simple Microsoft software; Paint. My dad uses it sometimes (meanwhile I’m teaching him how to use Sketchbook), in Paint the hot keys didn’t work, but that’s probably because I don’t know the shortcuts for Paint, but the pencil worked really well, my dad was delighted in how easy is the tablet to use.
I also tried the HK 1060 with Corel Paint Shop Pro, it’s the Photography’s software I like to use, and it also worked flawlessly. I didn’t try the tablet with Photoshop, but that’s because my dad’s computer doesn’t have it installed it. But my guess is that it also can work with it well.

OVERALL: The tablet is working
really well so far, it was easy to install, the surface feels good, and the
pencil is accurate. It’s big but comfortable, easy to carry around, it’s not
really heavy.
You can compare this tablet with any other Pro tablet from another brand, and this one would be the best in the market. For its size and the hot keys you can find the Wacom Intuos Pro, but that costs between $300 and $500, and this HK1060 costs not even the half of that.
It’s an incredible tablet for an amazing price! It’s definitely for those who are looking something Pro but with a small budget.
I would definitely recommend this drawing tablet to anybody and for any use!
